About Village People

Village People is an American disco outfit formed in New York City. Created in 1977 by Jacques Morali and Henri Belolo, the groups original members included Victor Willis, Felipe Rose, Alex Briley, Glenn Hughes, Mark Mussler, David Forrest, and Peter Whitehead, though the line-up would often change.

Known for their hit singles YMCA, In The Navy, and Macho Man, as well as their multitude of other high-selling records and singles, Village People would become pioneers in disco and legends of the late '70s and early '80s pop scene.
